The term patentability covers exactly what may be patented by the Patent Office. Congress put in writing that 'anything under the sun that is made by man' may be eligible for a patent. The phrase 'made by man' eludes to the fact that natural phenonmena, laws of nature, and abstract ideas may not be patented. Virtually everything else is.
