Patent Search

Patent searches are one of the most important activities an inventor should do before filing a patent application. In reality, a patent search is also a vital step performed by successful inventors even during the invention stage. Since creating something novel is so important when regarding patents, it is wise to first survey the marketplace as well as existing patents while creating the invention. Therefore, performing a US patent search (or at least reviewing similar patents) earlier on will ensure that the invention is novel and patentable.

Patent Search Information

If you are considering filing a patent application on your invention, you will need to first perform a patent search. Your invention must be novel, so it is imperative that another invention close in similarity to yours does not exist. A patent search is more in-depth than a survey of the marketplace.
